She was a native of Suffolk and was the widow of Stanley L. Smith. She was a member of Indian River Baptist Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Shirley White of Raleigh, N.C.; two sons, Stanley Lewis Smith Jr. of Ellenwood, Ga., and Wayne A. Smith of Virignia Beach; three sisters, Virginia McLendon of Green Cove Springs, Fla., Louise Powell of Virginia Beach and Marjorie Dillon of Suffolk; one brother, Claiborne Whitehead of Norfolk; nine grandchildren, Russell White of Bunn, N.C., Dorothy Roper and Arleen Rice, both of Raleigh, N.C., Stanley Smith of Ellenwood, Ga., Gary Smith of Stockbridge, Ga., Todd Smith of Ellenwood, Ga., Suzann Regan of Covington, Ga., Allen Smith of Virginia Beach and Beth Jennings of Chesapeake; and 12 great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at noon Monday in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Indian River Chapel, by the Rev. Robert E. Jordan. Burial will be in Rosewood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 4 to 6 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
