Arnold Lee Yates, 85, passed away October 13, 2017 in Rocky Mount, NC. He was born November 24, 1931 in Cabarrus County. He attended Pfeiffer College and honorably served his country in the U.S. Army. He was employed by Winn Dixie Stores, Inc. for over 30 years.
Arnold was a loving and devoted husband to his "Honey" Emma, and together on January 27, 2017, they celebrated sixty years of marriage. Arnold was preceded in death by his parents, Archie Alvin and Cora Weaver Yates, and his sister, Frances Yates Rogerson.
He leaves a loving family that includes his devoted wife Emma; sons, Tony Yates (Brenda) and Aaron Yates (Beverly) both of Rocky Mount; grandsons, Justin Yates (Rachel, fiance;) of Wilmington, Alex Yates of Rocky Mount, Jeremy Yates (Katy) of Charlotte, Ben Yates of Rocky Mount, Josh Yates of Rocky Mount; and a brother, Archie Yates (Betty) of China Grove; along with many caring friends and extended relatives.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 from 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm at the Yates home, 212 Delane Drive, Rocky Mount, NC. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 19, 2017 at 11:00 am at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
