Monnie Annette Sweeton Blakeney was the daughter of Alvis Bruce Sweeton, and Wanda Joyce Ralston. She married David Evan Blakeney on November 17, 1985 in Longview, Gregg Co., Texas. They had one child, Amber Annette Blakeney.

Graveside services for Monnie Annette Blakeney, 41, of Jacksonville, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 3, 2003, at Resthaven Memorial Park in Jacksonville. The Rev. Donny Barron will officiate the service under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home, Jacksonville.
Mrs. Blakeney died Sunday, June 29, 2003, in Reese. She was born Aug. 1, 1961, in Temple. She was a receptionist at Blakeney & Son Plumbing in Jacksonville and was a Baptist. Mrs. Blakeney was preceded in death by her grandfather, Mr. Ralston.
Survivors include her husband, David Blakeney of Jacksonville; mother-in-law, Mildred Blakeney of Jacksonville; daughter, Amber Annette Blakeney of Jacksonville; brothers-in-law and wives, Mike and Joyce Blakeney of Frankston, Kelly and Jackie Blakeney of Jacksonville and Shannon and Michele Blakeney of Bullard; uncle, Danny Ralston of Arizona; aunts, Susan Ralston of Elgin and Barbara Breen of Temple; nieces and nephews, Stacy and Kevin Wilson, Lee Blakeney, Casey and Candice Blakeney, Jason Henderson, Travis and Justina Willis and Jesse and Samantha Blakeney; and great niece and nephew, Taytum Willis and Parker Wilson.
Pallbearers include Mike Blakeney, Kelly Blakeney, Shannon Blakeney, Earl Cooper, Tommy Hennessey and Randy Speck.
Honorary pallbearers will be her nephews. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
