Iva Ledford Whitson, 86, of Bald Mountain, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at Blue Ridge Regional Hospital. A native of Madison County, she was a daughter of the late Oscar and Effie Metcalf Ledford, and wife of the late Reece Whitson who passed away in 2012. In addition to her parents and husband, Iva was preceded in death by her son, Roy Jack Fox; daughter-in-law, Rebecca Sigmon Whitson; sisters: Louise Maney and Lois Watts and brothers: Spurgeon Ledford, Emerson Ledford, Claude Ledford and Kelly Ledford. Iva worked at Mohasco for a number of years. She had a "green thumb" and loved her gardening. Sewing and quilting were also cherished pastimes for Iva.
