Richard Dale Brown

Virginia Beach - Dale Brown, 56, passed away on September 23, 2017.

He was born a breathtakingly beautiful baby boy of blond hair, hazel eyes, with a voice to shatter crystal. Gifted with balance and multiple talents, he has delighted family, friends, and strangers through the drawing of comic strips, sketches, and pictures; the blowing of glass animals, figurines, and other objects; and he evolved from a three wheel bicycle, to a four wheel training bike, to a two wheel child's bike, to a one wheel unicycle.

Though Dale performed extreme radical stunts on a four wheel skateboard, he gave up four wheel roller skates after a dreadful accident and a night spent in the emergency room.

The muse of music drew him into a lifelong love of percussion where he played, not only in school marching and symphonic band, but won a position in All City Orchestra. The natural progression lead him into forming his own band.

Through the years there have been many bands, many more band mates, so many clubs in so many cities. The hair, the makeup, the drum sticks, the spandex!

Dale possesses a talent for writing both lyrics and music which has filled his life with practice sessions, band pictures, benefit shows, and CD release parties; as well as being surrounded by stage hands, assistants, and countless groupies.

He has opened shows for Blue Oyster Cult, Joan Jet, Delbert McClinton, and many more renowned musicians. His music and his performances have brightened and changed more than one person's life.

Left to cherish his memory is his mother, Helen and brothers, Michael and his wife Michele Brown and Robert Brown, all of Norfolk, VA.

He is preceded in death by his father, Herb.

Memorial services will be held at a later date.
