Yancie honorably served our country in the United States Army during WWII. Mr. Brannen attended Lakeside Baptist Church for 61 years and served his church in many leadership roles, serving as chairman of the deacons, until he became ill. Yancie retired from Proctor and Gamble after 30 plus years employment. He and his wife, Annie Jo, were very involved in Red Cross disaster relief work, traveling to many states during times of crisis. His greatest joy was fellowshipping with his family and friends. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting, and served as the first president of the Three Rivers Hunt Club. Yancie was a devoted husband, a doting Granddaddy, and a fantastic father and role model!
Yancie was preceded in death by his parents James Washington Brannen and Nellie Mae Millican, his brothers, James Washington Brannen, Jr., Thomas Wiley Brannen, Marvin Brannen, and his sister Celia Elizabeth Brannen.
