Elwyn Royce Huffman, formerly of Huntington township died at 6:30 a.m. Wednesday (June 10, 1987) in his cruise ship berth at the dock in Hamilton, Bermuda.
He was discharged from the U.S. Army Intelligence Corps in 1952 after having served in World War II and the Korean War. He was a County Probation Officer in Philadelphia, Pa. where he lived since 1952. He retired in 1976 and worked part time with a Philadelphia real estate firm.
He was a member of the Memorial Church of St. Paul, Philadelphia and a 33 degree Mason. He was also a member of many patriotic veterans' organizations in Philadelphia.
Mr. Huffman was born March 4, 1923(1924) in Huntington township to Lorenzo and Alice Lydian (Roberts) Huffman. His marriage was October 12, 1958 at Glassboro, New Jersey to the former Alice Samuelian, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Allan Huffman of College Town, Texas and a daughter, Mrs. Gregory (Debra) Rominger, Philadelphia, Pa., a brother Val Gene Huffman of Jeffersonville and a sister, Mrs. Merl (Wazatta) Chilcote, Columbia City.
Three brothers preceeded him in death.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Memorial Church of St. Paul, Philadelphia, Pa. Calling will be from 7-9 Sunday at Wetzel-White Funeral Home, 501 N. Easton Road, Willow Grove, Pa. Fraternal and military services will be held Sunday evening at the funeral home. Burial will be at noon Monday at Arlington Cemetery, Drexel Hill, Pa. Preferred memorials are to the E. Royce Huffman Memorial Fund, 6300 Overbrook Drive, Philadelphia, Pa. 19151
