Shane graduated from Carroll High School in 2001. He worked for Kokomo Auto Supply for several years, for NAPA Automotive Parts in Flora and was also a seller at the Booster Club of Kokomo Bingo for several years. He was an avid music fan and loved going to concerts. He also enjoyed riding his Harley and spending time with his nieces. Shane was loved by everybody and had many, many friends. He was a lifetime member of the Booster Club of Kokomo, served as an officer at the IBN Saud Grotto and was a member of the Burlington Masonic Lodge F & AM 111.
He is survived by his parents, Byron and Anita Schaeffer, Burlington; brother and best friend, Andrew Schaeffer, Burlington; sister-in-law, Amanda Schaeffer; special nieces, Elizabith Knapp and Emilee Schaeffer; aunts and uncles, Chris Jackson, Steve Jackson, and Vivian Ramer, all of Kokomo, Stephen (Donna) Schaeffer, Burlington, Beth Ann (Alan) Sweet, Plymouth, Travis Short, Lafayette, Kimberly Jackson, Kokomo, and Allie Short, Lafayette; grandmother, Wanda Jackson, Kokomo; and a host of cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Wayne Jackson, Edward Michael Schaeffer and Melba Schaeffer, and aunt, Michelle Jackson.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 20, 2017, at Stout & Son Funeral Home, Neptune Chapel, 44 Michigan St., Burlington, with Pastors Dan Butcher and Bradford Moulton officiating. Burial will follow in Ball Hill Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with a Masonic Service to be held at 7:30. Memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home to assist the family with expenses.
