He died at 11:15 p.m. Friday, March 9, 2007, in Miller's Merry Manor.

Born Sept. 22, 1927, in Cass County, he was the son of Earl L. and Ruby Fitzer Moore. On Dec. 24, 1949, he was married to Marilyn A. Bubel, who survives.

Mr. Moore had lived in the Clymers area his entire life. He was a 1945 graduate of Logansport High School and a 1950 graduate of Purdue University.

He was a livestock and grain farmer. For a number of years, he maintained a large herd of registered Hampshire hogs and sold breeding stock.

From 1964 to 1988, he worked for the U.S. Department of Agriculture as the Cass County ASCS office manager. Along with his regular work, he enjoyed making ASCS displays for the Cass County and Indiana State Fairs and also training new office managers for other counties.

He was an active member of First United Methodist Church, the Logansport Noon Kiwanis Club and the Purdue Ag Alumni. In the early 1960s, he was a member on the board of directors for the Cass County Farm Bureau Co-op. During the 1990s, along with farming 100 acres of soybeans and wheat, Bob enjoyed cooking pork chops at church fundraisers, donating lots of cucumbers raised in his garden and hosting an annual Moore family reunion at France Park.

Bob is survived by his wife, Marilyn; two sons, Jim Moore of Kokomo; Tom Moore and wife Vicki of Carmi, Ill.; one granddaughter, Angela Bruns, and husband Jeremiah; and one great-grandson, Cameron Michael Bruns, all of Carmi, Ill.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Helen Jayne Retzlaw of Rockford, Ill. and Marie Leonard of Marshall, Mich. and by one brother, Dr. Earl Moore of Indianapolis.

The Rev. Larry Zehring officiated at the services. Burial was in Mount Hope Cemetery.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Miller's Merry Manor and various in-home caregivers, especially Mary Vaughan.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church Memorial Fund or the Alzheimer's Association.
