GEORGE JOSEPH ADAMS George Joseph Adams, age 80 of Wilmington, NC died September 8th, 2017 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice & Life Center.

He was born November 2nd, 1936 in Pottsville, PA. Son of the late George Leroy & Anna Dunleavy Adams. He is preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Shirley Capps Adams; son Oscar "Curtis" Adams; daughter, Georgene Champion; granddaughters, Ashley & Christine Champion; brother, Tom Adams. He is survived by his daughters, Margaret "Cindy" Adams & Patricia Walk; granddaughters, Tammy Thomas, Mandi Smith & Amber Adams; sisters, Faye Cottingham & Anne Marie Marsh; brother, James "Jim" Adams; seven great grandchildren, Natalie, Simone, Isabella, Brooks, Brooke, Hayley & Hartley and many neices & nephews. George was a USMC Veteran.

He was a welder & pipe fitter of over 30 years.

He loved the Lord and could be heard singing hymnals often. A memorial service will be held 11am on Saturday, September 16th at Wrightsville Beach Baptist Church with Pastor Danny Hawkins officiating. Family & friends will gather in the fellowship hall following the service. A service of Harrell's Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
