Robert C. “Bob” Abbott, 82 years of Hillsboro, passed away on Sunday September 10, 2017 at the Laurels of Hillsboro.



Bob was born in Adams County, OH on October 26, 1934, the son of the late Arthur and Edna (McCarty) Abbott. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Gus Abbott.



He was a graduate of Glendale High School and attended the Ohio State University. He was a self employed carpenter and farmer and retired from the Hillsboro City Schools. Bob also served his country in the US Army Reserves for 11 years.



Bob is survived by his wife, Phyllis Abbott, who were married on September 2, 1961; one daughter Debbie (Kevin) Carmean of Leesburg; one sister, Willadean (Robert) Graham of Cincinnati; two grandsons, Brandon Carmean and Elijah Carmean; and several nieces and nephews.



A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday September 13, 2017 at 1:00 PM at the Hillsboro Cemetery with Pastor Tom Zile and Rev. Curtis Randolph officiating.



The family asks that donations be made to the Red Cross or Salvation Army to support the Hurricane Relief Victims.
