> DODGEVILLE - Louren A. Gutherz, age 86, of Dodgeville, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 8, 2007, at Upland Hills Health following a brief illness. Louren was born on Oct. 28, 1920, in Dodgeville, to Adolf and Emma (Biefer) Gutherz. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Louren married the former Ruth Retrum in May of 1944. Louren owned and operated Blabaum and Gutherz Concrete Company with Leland Blabaum. Louren was a member of Grace Lutheran Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth of 53 years on June 14, 1997; his mother, Emma; his father, Adolph; and a sister, Lillian Peterson. Louren is survived by two daughters, Laura (Tone) Diederich and Janet Gutherz, both of Dodgeville; two grandchildren, Deena (Rick) Vinger and Dale (Becky) Diederich; three step-grandchildren, Mike Gullickson, Heidi (Paul) Heuring and Kelsi Gullickson; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Frances (Douglas) Sturdy of St. Petersburg, Fla.; as well as nieces, nephews and many friends. Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday, March 11, 2007, at the LULLOFF-PETERSON-HOUCK FUNERAL HOME, Dodgeville. Pastor Steven R. Kottke will officiate with burial in East Side Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday after 4 p.m.
