Obituary for Shirley Ann Woodring
Funeral services will be held at 6:00 P.M. Monday, Sept. 11, 2017 in the Leonard & Marker Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Pastor Jeff Sloan. Graveside services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, Sept. 12 in the Waurika Cemetery of Waurika, OK.

Shirley Ann Moore Woodring, 76, of Bixby, OK peacefully passed away at her home on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 after a lengthy illness.

Shirley was born April 9, 1941 in Jefferson County, OK, the second child of Dallas Leon and Lucille Reid Moore. She attended school at Claypool, Ringling and Mountain Home in Jefferson County and graduated from Turner High School, Love County, OK in 1959. Shortly after graduation, she went to live for a brief time with her sister, Phyllis Jean Janaskie to work in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania as a photographer's assistant. Shirley them moved to Oklahoma City, working at Tinker Air Force where she met and married Lester Leon Woodring on February 24, 1964 in El Reno, Oklahoma.

Shirley's interest and talents were many. She beautifully fulfilled the role of wife, mother, grandmother, sister, poet, artist, gardener and faithful friend. Her love, generosity, compassion, loyalty and sense of humor was limitless. Shirley was of the Baptist faith and she had a strong fascination and curiosity for the mysteries of time and space and spent many hours with family and friends discussing God, infinity and the unknown.

Survivors include her husband, Leon of the home, daughter; Kerri Jean Edwards and spouse Rick Edwards, son; Bret Allen Woodring and spouse Aimee (Zeiler) Woodring, grandchildren; Kirstin Rilee Edwards, Chance Edwards, Dalton Woodring, Cody Woodring and Jacob Woodring all of Bixby, sisters; Phyllis Jean Moore Graves and spouse Bud Graves of Ardmore, OK, Patricia Fay Moore of Ardmore, brother; Dallas Ray Moore of Union City, OK, aunt; Nettie Ruth Reid Cowan of Harrah, OK and many nieces and nephews.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents and 2 sisters; Sandra Lou Moore and Lois Ruth Moore Sons.
