Al Duckworth was a meteorologist.
He reported from WFLA-TV, Channel 8, Tampa, Florida (early '60s-1968). He was then at WWL-TV, Channel 4, New Orleans, Louisiana (1968-1984). At WWL-TV, he set up the station's first full weather station with weather radar. He reported when Hurricane Camille hit New Orleans on August 17, 1969. Then he moved to WVUE-TV, Channel 8, New Orleans, Louisiana (1984-1986).
He then went on to set up his own private weather forecasting company. He died on the 32nd anniversary of his Hurricane Camille broadcast.
He is survived by his widow, one son, and four daughters.
