Bell, Cornelia "Connie" J., 95, died on September 6, 2016 at Parr's Springhurst.

She was born on June 28, 1921 in Jacksonville, FLA, where she grew up. She graduated from Wellesley College in 1943 and later that year married Roger Bell, who at that time was a Navy pilot. This marriage turned out to be the greatest blessing of her life.

Roger and Connie had three children and lived in Bethesda, MD for many years. When the children were all in school, she enrolled at George Washington University, receiving an MA degree in education in 1959. She then taught middle school students for over 20 years. This was a career that she loved.

After retirement, her strong Christian faith led her to enroll in the Lay School at Virginia Seminary. She and Roger enjoyed the freedom to travel and to be with their grandchildren. In 2003 they moved to Louisville to be near their children. After Roger's death in 2009, she continued to live at Brownsboro Park Retirement Community, where she had many years of happy retirement. She was an enthusiastic bridge player, enjoyed reading, doing crossword puzzle's, playing computer games, and eating out with her family. She was a member of Saint Matthews Episcopal Church.

Connie is survived by three children, four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

A private memorial service will be held. Expressions of sympathy should go to the Dare to Care Food Bank.
