James Aubrey Sayles, 81, of Leicester, passed away at Pisgah Manor Nursing Home in Candler, NC on Wednesday, August 30, 2017.
He was born May 9, 1936 and was the last surviving child of the late Zeb and Eckford Williams Sayles of Fairview, NC.
Mr. Sayles worked for Beacon Manufacturing for several years then left to become a farmer for the next 57 years. He was an active member and deacon of Beulah Baptist Church on North Turkey Creek Road in Leicester.
Mr. Sayles was preceded in death on March 27, 2010 by his wife of 53 years, Mable Teague Sayles. He resided in Leicester for the past 60 years. Mr. Sayles was also preceded in death by 13 brothers and sisters: brothers Hollis, Graham, Bobby, Billy, Alfred, Perry and Charles; and sisters, Charlotte, Colleen, Peggy, June, Doris and Mary Jo.
Mr. Sayles is survived by his daughter, 2 granddaughters, 6 great grandchildren, a very special friend, 2 brothers- in-law, 2 sisters-in-law, and numerous nieces and nephews.
