Frank B. Jakub, 88, of North Versailles, passed away Monday, Aug. 21, 2017. He was born Nov. 15, 1928, in Duquesne, a son of the late Michael and Anna (Banosky) Jakub. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, John, Andrew, Edward and Michael R. Jakub. He is survived by his wife of more than 61 years, Marlene (Timko); children, Karen (husband John Jr.) Bielic, Robert (wife Ellen Losco) and Lynn (husband Gordon) Vytlacil; grandchildren, Christina (Neil) Pickard and Matthew Bielic; and his brothers and sisters, Albert, William, Florence Jakub and Dolores Mewkalo. Frank was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving in the Army Corps of Engineers building bridges. He has lived in North Versailles since 1957, and has worked as a steel mill worker, carpenter, general contractor, a member of the maintenance department at G.C. Murphy's Warehouse in the Christy Park section of McKeesport and neighborhood handyman. He built homes and garages throughout the Pittsburgh area with the most significant construction being the fur storage facility for the old Green Valley Cleaners in North Versailles.
Friends and family will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
