David Allen Thompson, 84, died Sunday, August 20, 2017 at his residence. He was born January 26, 1933 in Culpeper, VA to the late John Henry and Elsie Irene Thompson.
David is survived by his wife, Jean Conway Cropp Thompson; his children, John Thompson of Culpeper, Cheryl Barnes of Goose Creek, SC, Dale Thompson of Culpeper, VA, and Craig Thompson of Culpeper, VA, Dawn Thompson of Culpeper, VA, and Scot Thompson of Sommerville, SC ; his grandchildren, Amy Hunt and husband, Sean of Madison, VA, Ashley Woodward and husband Arlen of CO, Cole Thompson of Goose Creek, SC, Tommie Thompson of Culpeper, VA, Cody Thompson, Cory Thompson, Katelyn Thompson all of Sommerville, SC, Shelby Thompson and Keira Thompson both of Culpeper, VA and Corey McClanahan of Deep Creek, MD; and loving family additions, Shari Thompson, Nathan Barnes and Mike Runkles.
In addition to his parents, David is preceded in death by his son, Allan Thompson; and his grandson, Brent Thompson.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 24, 2017 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA 22701.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 25, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Jeffersonton United Methodist Church with Rev. Kang Lee officiating.
Burial will follow in Warrenton Cemetery, Warrenton, VA 20186.
