Gladys M. Gallihugh, 95, died Thursday morning, Aug. 3, 2017, at the home of her daughter, Patsy in Lake City. She was born in Porter Township, Midland County, Feb. 16, 1922, the daughter of Philo and Mabel (Hock) Finch. On Feb. 21, 1938, she married Luther "Boots" E. Gallihugh in Midland. Gladys was a devoted member of the Floyd Church of God for 78 years. Her family and church were the most important things in her life. She lived her life as a good witness for her grandchildren, as she wanted all of them to know the Lord. Gladys also loved spending time outside, and was an avid gardener. She is survived by her children, Lorian (Jill) Gallihugh of Breckenridge, Vivian Merryman of Sanford, Patsy (Jerry) Raymond of Lake City; 15 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; 25 great-great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Lois Gallihugh of Breckenridge; and her sister, Reatha Lator of Ashley. She was preceded in death by her husband, Luther in 1995; son, Doral Gallihugh; siblings, Philo Finch Jr., Jim Finch, Bobby Hoyt, Dean Hoyt, Doris Dunn, Vera Brickner; granddaughter, Kimberly Gallihugh; and her great-grandson, Garrett Gallihugh. Funeral services took place at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2017, at the Floyd Church of God, 1015 W. Chippewa River Road with burial in Homer Township Cemetery.
