Dorothy Bryant Jones passed out of this life into the loving arms of her Savior, Jesus, on Friday, July 21, 2017. She was born in Webb City, Oklahoma to Palmer and Mary Kratzer.
She grew up in the panhandle of Texas, graduating from Lefors High School in 1942, and attended Oklahoma City University from 1944-1945. On July 3, 1948 she married Raymond Wilson Bryant in Houston, Texas. After a few years they moved to San Antonio, Texas where they grew their family and became active at First Baptist Church. Dorothy was a stay at home mom until Ray died in 1970. She then volunteered at Northeast Baptist Hospital to improve her secretarial skills. She worked at several businesses before joining Southwest Research Institute in 1976. She retired from there in 1985, when she married W. R. Jones who had a horse ranch close to Floresville, Texas. The Lord took Bill home in 1999. Her final years were spent with Morningside Ministries Assisted Living. Dorothy’s family wishes to thank the amazing staff at The Manor for their excellent, professional and loving care of her.
She is survived by her sister, Ruth Sims. She also leaves behind her children and their spouses: Marilyn Little (Steve), Linda Bronson (Rick), Kay Eckelkamp (Jim), and Danny Bryant (Becky). Her stepchildren with Bill: Linda Briggs (Charles) and Don Stanfield (Retha). Dorothy will be missed by her grandchildren and nieces.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm on Friday, July 28, 2017, at Mission Park Funeral Chapels Cherry Ridge. Graveside Service will be held at 10 am, Saturday, July 29, 2017 at Mission Burial Park North.
