Janis is survived by her husband, Brooks Jordan, who she loved and was devoted to for forty-seven years; her sister, Linda Benton of Elm City; her niece, Jessica Ward and husband, DeWayne; great nieces, Katelynn Ward and Sophie Ward and great-nephew Jalen Ward all of Elm City; her three cats that she adored, Fancy, Pumpkin, and Can Man. Shannon Lewis and Judy Proctor, who Janis loved and made part of their family. Janis loved all of family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Curtis and Alma Blanche Robbins Horne.
