"Blessed are the Dead Which Die in The Lord. They May Rest From Their Labour and Their Works Do Follow Them"

In the picturesque settlement of Colonel Hill, Crooked Island, on February 3rd, 1921, an adorable baby boy was born to Esau and Luella Cunningham. They named him Clarence Wilfred Cunningham.

He recieved his early education at the All Age School in Crooked Island, where he was also a tutor. At the age of 16, he migrated to Nassau where he was raised by his eldest sister, Telefar.

In 1952, he fell in love with Viola Pratt and in October 1956, they were United in holy matrimony. This union was blessed with one son and three daughters. During his early years, he waa employed with the Meter Cab Company from it's inception. Later he was able to obtain his own Taxi plate, number 346. He continued in this business until he retired in late 1992. Clarence, a hard worker and was quite a soft spoken person. He was one who loved and cared for his family his grandchildren and often busy in the kitchen baking bread for everyone.

"Ham" as he was affectionately called by his coworkers, was a devoted father, husband, grandfather and friend to all he came into contact with. He spent most of his life as an ambassador to his country. In 1993 he moved to Seymour's, Long Island with his wife. For it was always his dream to move back to the "Family Island Life" that he so craved. In October of 1994, he became ill and had to be brought back to Nassau and admitted to P.M.H. In time his health improved enough for him to be discharged from hospital. He returned to Long Island in February of 1995; just in time to celebrate what would be his last birthday here on earth. On March 25th of that same year his condition worsened.

Clarence was now homesick for heaven. He a had a longing to go to a land where there is no sorrows, sickness or pain. On Saturday, April 8th, as the watched him closely, rejoicing in prayers and songs he quietly and peacefully slipped away to his eternal home in glory. "His Robe of Flesh He Dropped and Rose to Seize the Everlasting Prize"
