Time-the ever ubiquitous enigma...As enigmatic as time is, it governs our lives more than we could ever imagine. Time, whether we believe it or not actually controls every aspect of our lives. It is against this backdrop that we see our conception, birth and subsequently our demise. When the time was right, Paul Samuel McQuay Jr. made his debut onto the stage of life on October 23rd, 1940 in Nassau, Bahamas as a result of the courtship and subsequent marriage between Paul Samuel McQuay Sr. and Myrtis McQuay who are both now deceased.

From an early age he was reared in the Roman Catholic tradition and attended St. Joseph's Catholic School and when he was ready for employment, carpentry was second nature for him. In fact, he loved it tremendously. In the 1960's as the need for better employment arose he relocated to Grand Bahama. The Jack Tar Hotel, in West End and Holiday Inn were his employers most of his professional life.

Paul met Vena Cunningham Clarke in the late 70's and a relationship ensued which resulted in marriage on March 10th, 1983.

Paul has always been cognizant of his time here on earth, but for most of his life he struggled with his salvation. Thanks to God and His faithfulness, he began to take a renewed interest in the things of God which eventually led to him re-dedicating his life.

2008 saw the onset of an acute renal condition which was as a result of his battle with diabetes. This period in his life proved to be most challenging for him. He waited until it was absolutely necessary before he agreed to go on dialysis. This was a procedure that he did not care for at all. On Mother's Day (2011), he took a turn for the worse and slipped into a coma and passing from time to eternity at 10:15 PM on May 17th, 2011...

It is only now fitting to say that a man who spent most of his life working with his hands is now resting in the arms of The Lord.
