Actor. Born Rolf Ake Mikael Nyqvist, he was well known to film viewers as the villain in both "Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol" (2011) and "John Wick" (2014). Originally he was accepted to a ballet school in his native Sweden, but gave it up after one year. He then went to the Malmo Theatre Academy after an ex-girlfriend suggested that he try acting. He started his acting career in the theater, but later went into film and television. His first television acting role came in the 1982 television movie "Kamraterna". He would go on to appear in television in such works as "Kvallspressen", "Ammald forsvunnen", "Beck", "S:t MIkael: Traumaenheten", "Judith", "Olivia Twist", "The Bet", "Nattsosteren", "Milennium", "Zero Hour", and "100 Code". Besides "Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol" and "John Wick", he also appeared in such films as "Tic Tac" (1997), ""Breaking Out" (1999), "Together" (2000), "The Guy in the Grave Next Door" (2002), "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" (2009), "The Girl Who Played with Fire" (2009), "The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest" (2009), "Abduction" (2011), and "The Girl King" (2015). There was several films that he had appearances in that were either in post-production or still filming when he passed away of lung cancer.
