Born September 22, 1929 in Valparaiso, IN, she was the daughter of the late Donald and Hazel (Grimm) Will. Janice received her bachelor’s degree from the IU School of Nursing in 1950.
Her marriage was to Charles R. Mather M.D. on July 8, 1951 in Valparaiso. He preceded her in death on July 12, 2009.
Janice served as the head of the OBGYN Department with Coleman Women’s Hospital in Indianapolis.
She was a member of Faith Presbyterian Church in West Lafayette, Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority, The P.E.O. Sisterhood, and served on the Tippecanoe County 4-H Fair Board.
Surviving are her children, Carol Mather-Ball (husband: Chris) of Golden, CO, Dr. Steven Mather of Lafayette, Dr. Thomas Mather (wife: Debbie) of Charleston, SC, and James Mather (wife: Virginia) of Wilmette, IL; 12 grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death with her parents and husband is her sister, Donna Rae Kmac.
