Bobbie Ann is one of my maternal first cousins. Although we lived a continent apart for most of our lives, we kept in touch and saw one another whenever we could. She spent the last year and a half of her life living with me.

Bobbie Ann Brentner, nee Moore, age 85, previously of Pensacola, Florida, died Saturday, May 13, 2017, in Hillsboro, Oregon, due to complications from breast cancer.

Bobbie was born July 22, 1931, to Violet Ermyl (Stroop) and James Arthur Moore, at Gorgas Hospital, in Ancon, Panama Canal Zone.

Bobbie's whole life was centered around acting and directing. It all started with the plays she put on in her backyard as a child while growing up in the Canal Zone. After she married Lowell Brentner (whom she met when she was 7 and he was 11) on November 5, 1951, at Ft. Amador in the Canal Zone, they eventually ended up in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, where she really began her adult life in the world of the theatre. St. Thomas and Puerto Rico were the training grounds for her acting and directing career and where she learned of, and developed, her philosophy of Children's Theatre.

In 1974, Bobbie and Lowell finally settled in Pensacola, Florida, where they lived for over 30 years. Bobbie immediately became involved with the Pensacola Little Theatre. A few years later she and a fellow actor, director and playwright, formed Mini-Masquers, with the philosophy…"Not Just Kid's Stuff," where children learned from adult actors and adults learned from the children. For twenty years, Mini-Masquers delighted the children (and adults) of the Pensacola area.

Bobbie was preceded in death by her father, James Arthur "Jimmy" Moore in 1980, her step-father, Albert Edward "Robbie" Robinson in 2000, her mother, Violet E. (Stroop) Robinson in 2002, and her husband, Lowell Howard Miller Brentner in 2005. She is survived by her two half-brothers, her half-sister, her cousin and caregiver, and other family and friends. Bobbie and Lowell did not have any children.

A public memorial service took place in Pensacola, Florida, on Oct. 7, 2017 at the Trahan Family Funeral Home. Bobbie's ashes will be scattered in the Gulf of Mexico, to be with her mother, stepfather and husband.

Update-15 Jul 2018- Bobbie's ashes were scattered today. It took so long due to hurricanes and other bad weather. Her ashes were scattered in the Gulf of Mexico, from the boat "Wet Dream" from Scuba Shack out of Pensacola, FL. She was accompanied by "true" friends from her life in Pensacola.
