ROY L. ARNETT, JR. 85, of Suwannee passed away May 20, 2017.
Mr. Arnett was born September 4, 1931 to the late Eva and R.L. Arnett, Sr. in Ocala, Florida. He served in the United States Army as a Corporal from April 1953 to August 1955 during the Korean War. Mr. Arnett worked for 43 years with General Telephone Company (now Verizon), as a Technology Engineer, in the Lakeland, Florida area. He moved to Suwannee in 1993 and was a member of Suwannee Baptist Church.
Mr. Arnett is survived by his wife since February 9, 1976 Myrtle Arnett, his son Victor V. Allen (Elizabeth), a granddaughter Melissa Allen, a sister Elizabeth Anne Risteen, his nieces Donna Pinkerton (Todd) and Susan Ovens (Nick), and other extended family members.
A memorial service will be held in honor of Mr. Arnett 12:30 PM Saturday, May 27, 2017 at the Suwannee Baptist Church, with Pastor Fred Edwards officiating. The family will receive friends in the Church Fellowship Hall, for a lunch starting at 11:00 AM prior to the service. Interment will follow at Keen Cemetery outside of Suwannee. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to your favorite charity.
