Contributor: 47099775 - had incorrectly requested that the page originally created by me for a single woman named Susanna Klohs(never married) be merged with a married Susanna Wagner-Klohs who was her sister-in-law. He since on 2-27-21 acknowledged that he was incorrect in doing this and so those changes have thus been made to return her to the unmarried Susan Klohs. The cemetery book references this Susanna as a Miss (unmarried woman). The age in her death record also proves she is the single Susan born in the year posted.

Her sister-in-law has the maiden name of Wagner and is Susanna Wagner-Klohs.
The death date listed of 1856 was a single woman. Susanna (the married woman) died at another time. Possibly she even remarried and is buried somewhere else as there is no stone next to her husband Isaac for her. Instead the single Susanna is buried next to her single brother Jacob who listed her in his will since they were both single and then buried together.

Schwarzald Baptism record:
Susanna Kloss
relationship: Henrich
Birth: 10/18/1781
Baptism: 2/22/1786

Schwarzald Death Record:
MISS Susanna Close
Age: 74y
Death: 5/22/1856
Cause: Dropsy

Note: The above death and birth records match the single Susanna Klohs and not the married Susanna Wagner-Klohs whose birth info appears at the bottom of the page. The married Susanna Wagner-Klohs is born 11 years later in 1792. Again the cemetery book lists Miss on one record indicating she is not married. The women who were married in this cemetery book typically lists their husband's name even when he dies first.
Susanna Klohs is buried next to Jacob Klohs. Jacob Klohs in his will mentions two sisters Eve Boyer and Susanna Close.

Susanna is also listed in her father's will Henry Close in 1815. Last name is spelled Close, Kloss, and Klohs on various records probably due to anglicization of names.Tombstone transcribed in 1956 and later destroyed when grave was covered for building expansion. Buried with Jacob Close. Isaac Close is buried quite a distance in the same cemetery by himself and there is no marker next to him for his wife Susan.

There are two Susan Close shown in this family born over 10 years apart. My(Contributor: 47099775 ) memorial shown as a wife of Isaac 1785-1827, Susan nee Wagner, and the other as his sister, single. Assuming both existed and died the same date, only one appears in the local 1850 census and she is living in the household of Elias Wagner with Henrietta, daughter of Isaac 1785-1827. Elias would be her brother if she is nee Wagner and that is strongly indicated. The said Henrietta appears in various estate papers as a daughter of Isaac 1785-1827, However, brother Solomon names her as a half sister in his obituary. Susan Klohs appears in the 1830 census as a widow with children. She does not appear single in 1840 but in the household of brother in law Jacob there reside persons(1) of an age for Susan, (1) Jacob, (1) her child Henrietta, (1) female age 20-30. Susan who died in 1856 is shown in the 1956 Schwarzwald tombstone transcription records along with Isaac and Jacob. No other Close/Klohs family were recorded in that inspection. In conclusion, the Susan who died in 1856, whether a wife or sister of Isaac, should not be represented in findagrave as a different person with the same death, based on speculation. (Very true and since the cemetery records state the Susan Klohs buried here is a single woman and she is buried next to her single brother Jacob, it appears very clear that she is not the married Susan Klohs). She easily could have remarried and be buried under another name.
Note: Susan's 1856 death was recorded at the Trinity Lutheran Church simply as Susan Klohs, no name prefix or mention of wife of or daughter of. Re: Church and Town Records, ancestry.com . Susan Wagner-Close is listed as a daughter in father Elias Wagner's estate of 1831.
