John was the 2nd son born to his parents. He was born in Dufferin County and his family moved to Oxbow Saskatchewan.

When it came time to marry, John returned to Dufferin County, and married Samuel McCutcheon’s daughter, Mary Elizabeth “Minnie” McCutcheon. They were married in Mulmur on 26 Dec 1900 by Rev. A.E. Neilly and in the 1901 census, the newly married couple were found living in Oxbow, Saskatchewan.

In 1908, their only known child, Donald Roy Argadh, was born in Toronto and in the 1921 census the family was found living in Toronto.

After John’s wife died in 1931, John was found living in Oxbow, Saskatchewan again, while his son, Donald stayed in Toronto.

John made sled runners, neck-yokes, and some furniture among other things. John and his siblings were musically inclined. Each of them played an instrument. John played the violin and gave lessons to local children. He was remembered as a good-natured man.
