Mr. Vern Alderman, 72, of Adel, Georgia passed away Friday May 19, 2017 at his home. He was born on May 4, 1945 in Berrien County to the late Vance and Verna Lee McLendon Alderman. He lived in Adel and then moved to Florida after getting married where the family raised their two sons and then moved back to Adel in 1995. He was a member of Adel United Methodist Church and was also retired from Vulcan Steel where he worked as a sales representative for 22 years..
Mr. Alderman is survived by his wife of 51 years, Peggy Strong Alderman of Adel; two sons and a daughter-in-law: Jon and Danielle Alderman of Adel, and Derek Alderman of Marathon, Florida; a grandson, Kody Alderman of Marathon; a brother and sister-in-law, Vann and Patricia Alderman of Adel; a niece and her husband, Joy and Lee Sumner of Homerville, Georgia; and two nephews and their spouses: Jason and Kristie Alderman of Aniston, Alabama and Christopher and Camille Alderman of Acworth, Georgia. A host of cousins also survive.
The funeral service for Mr. Alderman was held Monday May 22, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Adel United Methodist Church with Rev. John Stephens officiating. Interment was in Woodlawn Cemetery Annex. Boone Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
