Clara "Jean" McQuivey Larsen
1932 - 2017

C. Jean McQuivey Larsen, an incredible mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to all, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Mother’s Day, May 14, 2017. She was born June 19, 1932, in Blackfoot, Idaho, to Marion Ole and Geneve Simons McQuivey. She married Lorrin H. Larsen on December 26, 1959. Their marriage was solemnized in the Provo Utah LDS Temple on August 5, 1986.

Jean lived in Provo for 58 years. She worked for Mountain Bell for over 30 years. She and her husband owned a fruit farm as well. They were blessed with two daughters. They enjoyed working and traveling together. Jean was focused on serving others. She believed that everyone could make their own happiness. This was done by selflessly serving people around her. She filled her life with travel, golf, BYU sports and supporting her kids and grandkids activities.

Jean enjoyed her family. Some of the best memories were celebrating with her extended family. She was the center of family activities and made sure to include everyone. There wasn’t a birthday or special event that she missed. She never missed a game, concert, meet or tournament. She was her grandchildren’s number one fan.

Jean was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served as Relief Society president, Sunday School teacher and visiting teaching supervisor. The ultimate example of Christ-like love and service, Jean was a friend and support to countless others. Her diligence and kindness will be her legacy.

Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Lorrin, in 1996. Jean is survived by four brothers: Richard, Lee, Raul and Jack McQuivey; two daughters: Gina King (Todd) and Lori Monson (Todd); grandchildren: Kasey Du Pre (Alli), Jessie Du Pre, Jonny Du Pre (Madi), Riley Monson, Lauren Monson and Brody Monson.
