CENTENARIAN
100 YEARS

Early Life: Roxie was born June 21, 1916, in Pleasant Grove, Utah, to Thomas Grafton Hansen and Annie Nolan Barton Hansen. She graduated from American Fork High School.
Life's Work/Service/Interests: Roxie met her eternal companion, Leonard Elmo Russon, on New Year’s Eve. They were married a year and a half later in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on June 14, 1934. They were the proud parents of five children. After a few years of marriage, they moved to Lehi, Utah, where she lived out the remainder of her life. She was taught to work hard and always be on time which she carried with her throughout her life. She was involved with the Olympian Literary Club. She enjoyed camping and being in the outdoors with her family. She loved handwork, she learned how to crochet by trial and error but felt it was very relaxing. She also learned and enjoyed making ceramic dolls. She always felt she was given some of her talents later in life but appreciated those talents given to her from her Father in Heaven. Roxie was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, fulfilling temple assignments and serving a church mission with Elmo at the Provo Tabernacle. She served in the stake and ward Relief Society, Primary and Young Women organizations throughout her life. She spent her life serving her family and friends with dedication, kindness and love. She will be greatly missed by all those who had the pleasure to be part of her life. Her kindness, her love, and positive words of encouragement will never be forgotten. Roxie Eloise Hansen Russon passed away Mother's Day, May 14, 2017. She was nearly 101 years old and endured to the end.
