85, of Clearwater, FL, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, April 4, 2017.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am, Monday, April 10, at Light of Christ Catholic Church, 2176 Maryland Street, Clearwater, FL 33765. Visitation will be held before the funeral mass at 9:30 am in the Church Chapel. Family and friends are welcome. Richard was born November 29, 1931, in Chicago, IL to Charles and Elsie Lee. He graduated from Hyde Park High School in 1950, Illinois Institute of Technology with his Bachelor Mechanical Engineering Degree, and American University with his Masters Engineering Degree. On November 3, 1951, he married the former Betty Inez L. Boren in Chicago. Richard was employed with the Department of the Navy and was one of the leading engineers in his field. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He is a member of Knights of Columbus, 4th Degree, American Legion, Elks Lodge, and Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity. Richard is an Eagle Scout, as were six sons and three grandsons. He retired in 1992, moved to Clearwater, FL, and has enjoyed his time with his children, grandchildren, and friends.
Richard is survived by his wife, Betty of Clearwater, FL, and his eight children, Richard G. Lee Jr. and his wife Carol, William Michael Lee and his wife Kyle of McLean, VA, Judy Ann Love and her husband Terry of Clearwater, FL, Ronald Dennis Lee of Gainesville, VA, James Patrick Lee of Haddon Heights, NJ, John Joseph Lee and his wife Corbin of Ashburn, VA, Robert Edward Lee and his wife Debra of Charlotte, NC, and Daniel Thomas Lee and his wife Christene of Naples, FL. He is also survived by 26 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
