Richard "Rich" G. Pridemore, 72, passed away on Friday, May 5, 2017 at his residence in Monticello, surrounded by his family. Richard was born on September 26, 1944 in Lafayette to the late Menlo Hall and Celia Ann (Koning) Pridemore. A lifetime resident of the Lafayette area, he was a graduate of the Indiana College of Mortuary Science and attended Purdue University.

Professionally, Richard was the longtime owner and operator of Hippensteel Funeral Home. He built many lasting relationships and helped many grieving families over his 35-year career in funeral service.

Richard was an avid golfer, loved fishing and boating, and organized the "Thunderover Freeman" Lake Freeman Fireworks for many years. He was an avid Purdue fan and enjoyed vacationing in Florida with his wife Barb during the winter months. He touched many lives and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Richard is survived by his wife, Barbara (Hall) Pridemore; two children; four stepchildren; two sisters; three grandchildren; 13 stepgrandchildren; and five step-great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his stepmother, Alice Pridemore.

Family and friends were welcome to visit from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Hippensteel Funeral Home in Lafayette on Tuesday, May 9, 2017. Funeral Services followed on Wednesday, 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment was private at Resthaven Memorial Park.
