Union Civil War Officer. Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, he was appointed by Major General Lew Wallace to command a thirty day cavalry regiment on September 2, 1862 to aid in the defense of Cincinnati against the threat of a Confederate attack. He became Captain of "Captain Bard's" Company, Ohio Militia. He died in Cincinnati, Ohio.
