Actress. She was the daughter of Austrian tenor Valentin Adamberger and actress Maria Anna Jacquet. Her parents died when she was in her early teens and she was raised by the poet Heinrich Joseph von Collin. She pursued an acting career and made her debut at age 16 on the stage of the Burgtheater in Vienna, Austria and became an instant success, displaying her abilities as 'Beatrice' in "The Bride of Messina" and also as 'Desdemona' in "Othello". In 1812 she met Carl Theodor Korner who contributed operettas and comic pieces to the Burgtheater and they became engaged. The following year, Korner left to join the Prussian Army to fight against French Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte in the Sixth Coalition and was killed in battle. In 1817 she left the stage and married the antiquary and numismatist Joseph Calasanza von Arneth and three years later, she became Reader to the Austrian Empress Caroline Augusta. In 1832 she was named Directress of the Karolinestift, an institute for the raising of soldiers' daughters. She died at the age of 76, just six days shy of her 77th birthday. Her son, Alfred von Arneth, became a noted Austrian historian.
