Ruth Jean Jenkins Covington , 79, of Shelbyville , Kentucky, died Thursday,
the 21st day of April, 2016 at Baptist Health LaGrange in LaGrange, Kentucky.
A native of Georgetown, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Silas Stedman and Vada Lee Antle Jenkins, and widow of Roy " R.C." Covington.
She graduated from Garth High School in Georgetown, Kentucky, where she was the 1954 Homecoming Queen.
A member of the First Presbyterian Church Of Shelbyville, her memberships also included the Isaac Shelby Chapter, Daughters of the
American Revolution.
She was seamstress , and formerly operated the RCW Sewing Company, and had previously worked worked as a teletype operator for Piedmont Airlines.
Her survivors include her daughters, Terry, Laura, six grandchildren , one great-grandchild, two step- grandchildren , brothers, Wilbur, Silas, and Lee,
her beloved dachshund , Oscar.
