Funeral services for Mrs. Patricia Ann Diggs, of Heathsville, Virginia will be held Sunday, March 12, 2017 at 2 p.m. at the Berry O. Waddy Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Burgess, VA, with Reverend Walker Wilson, Officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday, March 11, 2017, 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. and at the funeral home in Burgess one hour prior to service.

Patricia Ann Palmer Diggs, daughter of the late Noah and Elizabeth J. Palmer, was born March 19, 1945 in Browns Store, VA. The Lord call his sweet angel home on Wednesday, March 8, 2017.

Patricia grew up in Browns Store (Northumberland County), VA and attended the public schools of Northumberland attending Central High School. As a child,she joined the First Baptist Church in Heathsville, VA. She later went onto regular worship at Morning Star Baptist Church in Browns Store, VA.
For many years Patricia worked in the seafood industry and often worked during crab and oyster seasons. She worked at Booth Seafood in Wicomico Church, VA. She was also a personal caregiver for many years.

Patricia was joined in Holy Matrimony to the late Charles B. Diggs on December 13, 1965 and their union was blessed with five beautiful children.

Patricia was a very gentle kindhearted and passionate woman who loved people, and loved serving others. She always had a deep love for her children, siblings and grandchildren. Mia, daughter of her beloved Pamela and she raised her as her own.

She was predeceased by her parents, husband and four of her children; Pamela D. Diggs, Glenton V. Diggs, Charles M. Diggs, Pheobe A. Diggs, two brothers; Mitchell Palmer and Stanley Palmer, and two sisters; Mary Palmer Eliza Rice as well as a great grandson, Baby Zion Thomas.

Patricia leaves precious memories with her son, Lewis Burton Diggs (Donna) of Heathsville, VA., eight grandchildren; William Butler (Latoya) of Baltimore, MD; Mia Diggs Pierce (Charles) of Montross, VA; Octavia Butler of Baltimore, MD; Cierra Butler of Baltimore, MD; Ayriel Thomas (Kelvin) of Merry Point, VA; Michael Jones of Heathsville, VA; Jennifer Neale of Haynesville, VA; and Kevin Stevens of Heathsville, VA; ten great grandchildren Kendrick Diggs Pierce, Kalajahwhon Pierce, Sonya's Butler, Devyn Butler, Carter Butler, Kea'Nijah Thomas, Ka'Melo Thomas, Ke'Avion Thomas, Ke'Maya Thomas, Adriana Neale and Brandon Stevens; a brother, Robert Palmer, Sr. (Gayle) of Mollusk, VA; a sister, Eairla Hawkins (Michael) of Temple Hills, MD; three aunt's, Edna Butler of Heathsville, VA; Elma Jones of Baltimore, MD; Bertha Winston of Baltimore, MD; a daughter-in-law, Barbara Diggs Butler of Baltimore, MD; two sister-in-law's, Shirlene D. Walters and Betty D. Drake; two brother-in-law's, Carroll Diggs and Milford Diggs; special friends: Latoya Jackson, Oneita Wilson, Audrey Palmer, Bobbie Lee Brown, Jane Alma Williams, Faye Edwards and Charles Pierce, who was just like a son to her who she loved dearly; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Interment services were held at the First Baptist Church Cemetery in Heathsville, VA where she was laid to rest beside her children and her husband. Her floral bearers and pallbearers were family and friends.
