"Joseph was Frances' 1st husband. He died young and she then married John Croker. Joseph's sister-in-law was Deborah Reed Franklin and her husband was Benjamin Franklin. Joseph was one of Ben's good friends. Joseph died in Ben Franklin's arms in 1727. Joseph is mentioned in Ben Franklin's Autobiography".
