∼Gabriel Rios Hinojosa, 78, was surrounded by his family when he went to his eternal home on Sunday, January 20, 2013. He was born in Falfurrias, Texas, and he was a wonderful son, husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to all who knew him. He served his country in the United States Army and his community as a firefighter for 28 ½ years for the City of Corpus Christi, Texas.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Casimiro and Herminia Rios Hinojosa; brother, Lucas Hinojosa; and sisters, Gloria Hinojosa, Lydia H. (James) Holt, Esmeralda H. (Jesus) Martinez, Teresa H. Menchaca (d. 2012); and nephew, Federico Soliz, Jr.
Surviving him are the loves of his life, his devoted wife of 49 ½ years, Gloria G. Hinojosa; daughters Monica H. (Charles) Hale, from Centerville, VA, and Michelle H. (Tim) Bailey, from Bainbridge Island, WA; and niece, Dorothy (Philip) Quaranto from San Antonio, TX; his grandchildren; brothers, Casimiro (Bertha) Hinojosa from Falfurrias, TX and Lalo (Ramona) Hinojosa, from Killeen, TX; sister, Candelaria (Federico) Soliz, Corpus Christi, TX; and brother-in-law, Armando Menchaca, from Corpus Christi, TX and numerous nieces and nephews.
