Mrs. Sarah “Dollie” Whitford Bunting, age 86 died peacefully at her home on Sunday morning, March 20, 2011.
Mrs. Bunting was a member of the First Baptist Church in Scotland Neck. She was married to Leonard Bunting in 1974.
She worked alongside her husband for many years as they owned and operated several businesses in Scotland Neck.
Mrs. Bunting was very dedicated to her family and was also very devoted to the town of Scotland Neck; working with various civic organizations throughout the years.
Preceding her in death are her mother and father, Ella Hoell Whitford and John Whitford and her son Allen Ray Morris and two brothers; Pete and John Whitford.
Survivors include her husband Leonard J. Bunting of the home, one stepdaughter, Kathy Leggett and her husband Art of Washington, North Carolina, one brother, Billy Whitford and his wife Martha of Vanceboro, North Carolina, one daughter-in-law, Jenny Morris of Fremont, North Carolina, widow of the late Allen Ray Morris.
Also surviving are four grandchildren; Sarah Beth Warren and her husband Ronnie and Jeff Morris and his wife Sarah, Joel Leggett and his wife Penny and Katherine Davis and her husband Dixon; six great grandchildren; Blythe and Braxton Morris, Seth and Savannah Leggett, Lilly Ann and Elanor Davis.
