Bessie was born March 2, 1926, in Stokes County to the late Riley Wilson and Agnes Miriam Tuttle Tuttle. She was the last living of nine siblings. Bessie was a long time member of Rosebud Christian Church. Though she never married, or had any children of her own, she treated her nieces and nephews as her own.
She is survived by her nieces and nephews: Sue Kuhn, Barbara Bovender, Lance Aaron, Steve Aaron, Sherman Aaron, Libby Lewis, John Tuttle and Ann Tuttle.
Bessie is preceded in death by her parents, three brothers: Curtis, Theodore and Riley Tuttle, five sisters: Opal Foy, Marie Mounce, Hilda Lewis, Flora Tuttle and Evelyn Bennett.
There will be a 2:00 pm funeral service Sunday, March 26, 2017 at Rosebud Christian Church with Rev. Bob Blackmore officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall.
