If you served with or knew my Father, please email me. This hero was my father. I didn't know him, I was only One and a half years old. I have always heard wonderful things about my Father, however I would like to know more. 5 years ago I met my Fathers side of the family and it was a very emotional time I think for all of us. His family were incredible loving and were wonderful hosts, I only wish I had knew them as family from trips back home with my Dad. Michael Smith, 6701 Lincoln Ave, Evansville, IN 47715.

He is the Son of Mr Baxter Smith and Mrs Sarah Fry Smith, Moore County, North Carolina.

He served with Charlie Company, 2nd Battalion, 502nd Infantry Regiment, "Strike", 101st Airborne Division, "Screaming Eagles", USARV.

He was awarded The Combat Infantryman's Badge(CIB), The Purple Heart Medal for his combat related wounds, The Vietnam Service Medal, The Republic of Vietnam Campaign Service Medal, The National Defense Service Medal and The Good Conduct Medal(s).
