Catherine Blankenship, 74, of Wayne, WV died Monday March 13, 2017 at Cabell Huntington Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 am Friday, March 17, 2017 at the Oak Grove Church in Fort Gay, WV by Brother Luther Dingess. Burial will follow at the Grimmett Mosley Cemetery, Paddle Creek. She was born November 11, 1942 in Accoville, WV, a daughter of the late Ira Ed Vincell and Mae Matney Vincell. Catherine was a homemaker and member of the Big Lynn Church. Also preceding her in death was a daughter, Deborah Eldred; a grandson, Matthew Eldred; three nieces, Clara Elkins, Teresa Earp and Kay Grimmett. Survivors include three daughters, Kathy Simpkins (Clyde) Lavalette, WV, Carrie Simpkins (Ronald) of Radnor, WV, Michelle Simpkins of Huntington, WV; special daughter-in-law Cassie Simpkins, three sons, Charles Simpkins (Cassie) of Wayne, WV, Curtis Simpkins of Cleveland, OH, Hank Simpkins of Dunlow, WV; two special grandsons that she helped raise, Karl Lee Eldred and Franklin David Simpkins both of East Lynn, WV; four sisters, Joann Smith of Myrtle Beach, SC, Linda Grimmett of Fort Gay, WV, Hazel Mosley (Willard) of Robinette, WV, Helen “Goldie” Wiley (Owen) of Ranger, WV; four brothers, Leon Vincell of Barboursville, WV, Jimmy Vincell of Thomasville, NC, Roy Vincell of Ft. Gay, WV, Leonard Vincell of Thomasville, NC; nineteen additional grandchildren, Priscilla Angel, Timothy, George, Chris, Shawn, Bobby, Pamela, Ellison, Matthew, Daniel, Eli, Alex, Elizabeth, Stephanie, Nicky, Alisha, Angel, Haley, Lani; two great grandchildren on the way; brother-in-law, Daniel Boone Simpkins; special friends, Luther and Judy Dingess and numerous step-grandchildren, step great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
