Charles, 85, was pronounced dead following a fire at his residence.

He was born to Guy and Edith Mae (Bunger) Ary. On Sept. 13, 1947, he married Carroll J. Myers, who survives.

Also surviving are a son, John L., Arcanum.

Deceased are seven brothers, Ralph, Harold, Raymond, Vernus, Wilbur, Donald and Leonard; and two sisters, Elizabeth Bruner and Edith Mae Little.

He was employed at the former Brown's Service Store, Arcanum, and retired from Arcanum Hardware. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in World War II in the Sicilian and Italian Campaigns. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, American Legion Post 140 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7262, all of Greenville.
