SP4 Lester Wayne Robbins, Vietnam Veteran, Native of Laurinburg, NC.

Specialist Four Lester Wayne Robbins was a casualty of the Vietnam War. As a member of the Army Selective Service and a Draftee, SP4 Robbins served our country until February 19th, 1967 in South Vietnam. He was 20 years old and was married. It was reported that Lester died when his weapon accidentally discharged while riding in a vehicle and striking and mortally wounding him. His body was recovered. Lester was born on May 18th, 1946 in Laurinburg, North Carolina. SP4 Robbins is on panel 15E, line 064 of the Vietnam Memorial Wall in Washington D.C. He served our country for less than a year.

He was the husband of Mrs Jacqueline A Robbins, Route #4, 6th Street, Laurinburg, NC.

He served with Alpha Company, 2nd Battalion, 28th Infantry Regiment, "Black Lions", 1st Infantry Division, "The Big Red One", USARV.

He was awarded The Bronze Star Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, "V" Device for Valor, The Combat Infantryman's Badge(CIB), The Purple Heart Medal for his combat related wounds, The Vietnam Service Medal, The Republic of Vietnam Campaign Service Medal, The National Defense Service Medal.
