Ralph was born to Coan and Thisbe (Myers) Cain in Pleasant Township, Grant County and lived here all his life. He married Jeanne (Lockwood) Cain on Dec. 28, 1947. He was a farmer all his life, and also worked with Habitat for Humanity for many years. He was a lifetime member of Mt. Olive United Methodist Church.

Survivors include: wife, Jeanne Cain, Marion; daughters, Cinda Cain, Marion, and Joleen (Aaron) Anson, Huntington; son, David (Deborah) Cain, Marion; grandchildren; John, Molly, Dolly, Evan, Lauren, Mitchell, Ethan and Spencer; and great-grandchildren, Blake and Owen.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Coan and Thisbe (Myers) Cain, and his brother, Wellman.
