Born in Patterson, NJ, Dennis was a son of the late Elmer W. and Rebie McDonald Lewis. He was a self-employed subcontractor installing hardwood floors and served in the US Army. Throughout his life, he served many roles for many people, but the greatest three were as husband, dad and "papa".
Surviving beside his wife Deborah are four children: Dennis W. Lewis Jr. of Pickens, SC, Pamela J. Lee of Mauldin, SC, Sabrina M. Chick (Johnny) of Pickens, SC, and Samantha Holmes (Marcus) of Greer, SC; eighteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; his sister, Marie Sellers of Marietta, SC; and his best friend, Wayne Henderson (Linda) of Greenville, SC.
He was pre-deceased by a daughter, Tammy Rena Bridges of Woodruff, SC; his parents; his brother, Roy E. Lewis of Greenville, SC; and his grandparents.
