Gerald Leroy Anderson, age 86, died Friday, February 17, 2017 at South Georgia Medical Center.
Funeral service will be Friday, February 24, 2017, 2:00 PM at Beggs Funeral Home – Madison Chapel, with burial at Oak Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service.

He was born and raised in York Nebraska, and moved to Madison in 1969. He was past President of Kiwanis Club of Madison. He was an avid Tennis player and was Nebraska State Champ while going to Carney State College. He loved to play Golf and was a avid Fisherman in the Gulf. He was Principal in the Madison County School System.

He is survived by his companion: Pauline Brown of Valdosta, GA; 1 son: Michael Anderson (Terry) of Lake Charles, LA; 2 daughters: Karen Hackett (Scott) of New Ioswich, NH; and Linda Smart Wagner (Tom) of Melrose, Florida; half-brother: Larry Anderson of Omaha, Nebraska; 2 sisters: June Janie Fischer of Butler, PA and Norma Jean Vorce of Tallahassee; 11 Grandchildren and 8 Great Grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a sister: Shirley Joan Bennett.
