Private First Class Clinnis Harrell Jackson was a casualty of the Vietnam War. As a member of the Army Selective Service and a Draftee, PFC Jackson served our country until November 7th, 1966 in South Vietnam. He was 21 years old and was not married. It was reported that Clinnis died from small arms fire or grenade. His body was recovered. Clinnis was born on January 26th, 1945 in Southern Pines, North Carolina. PFC Jackson is on panel 12E, line 037 of the Vietnam Memorial Wall in Washington D.C. He served our country for less than a year.
Fellow Grunt. CJ, I served with you from our first week in the Army at Fort Jackson. You got hold of a set of lieutenant bars and went from tent to tent making us drop for 20. He served with Bravo Company, 2nd Battalion, 22nd Infantry Regiment, 4th Infantry Division, USARV.
He was awarded The Combat Infantryman's Badge(CIB), The Purple Heart Medal for his combat related wounds, The Vietnam Service Medal, The Republic of Vietnam Campaign Service Medal, The National Defense Service Medal.
